Our Home Surveyor & Property Valuer Accreditation & Professional Membership
Our property surveys for estate agents are carried out by qualified surveyors who belong to the professional bodies that set UK property standards. Every report is prepared to recognised guidance and is completely independent, so you can rely on the findings when you buy, sell or value a property.
Why estate agents need a trusted survey partner
Every estate agent knows the frustration of a sale that collapses late in the process. When a buyer's survey throws up unexpected issues, the result is often renegotiation, delay or a complete withdrawal from the transaction. These last-minute surprises damage your pipeline, unsettle your vendor and waste weeks of everyone's time.
By working with a dependable surveying partner, you can help your clients get ahead of potential problems. Recommending a survey early in the process means issues are identified while there is still plenty of time to resolve them. A clear, well-written report gives buyers the confidence to proceed and gives sellers realistic expectations about what might come up during negotiations. When both sides are working from the same factual information, deals are far less likely to fall apart.
We understand the pressures estate agents work under. That is why we offer consistently fast turnaround times, clear communication throughout the process and reports written in language your clients can understand without needing a construction degree. We never use a survey as an opportunity to upsell unnecessary further investigations, and we are always available to discuss findings directly with you or your client.
How a good survey partner supports your agency
Which survey service is right for your client?
Every property and every buyer is different. Here are the services we recommend most often to estate agents, depending on the type of transaction.
RICS Level 2
Home Survey
The go-to survey for standard residential transactions. Suitable for conventional properties built within the last 150 years that are in reasonable condition. Includes traffic light condition ratings and a market valuation. The right recommendation for most of your buyer clients.

Building Survey
The comprehensive option for older properties, listed buildings, properties that have been extended or altered, or any property where your client has renovation plans. A much deeper technical inspection than the Level 2.

Vendor Survey
A survey commissioned by the seller before the property goes to market. Identifies issues upfront so the vendor can address them or price accordingly, reducing the risk of surprises later. An increasingly popular option with savvy sellers.

Why estate agents choose National Home Surveyors
Fast, reliable turnaround times
We understand that time kills deals. Our standard turnaround from booking to report delivery is consistently 6 to 10 working days, and we communicate proactively if anything looks likely to slip.
Fully RICS regulated and insured
Every survey is conducted by a qualified RICS surveyor with full professional indemnity insurance. Your clients are protected and your recommendation is backed by a regulated professional body.
Reports your clients can actually read
We write in plain English, not surveyor-speak. Our traffic light condition ratings make it easy for any buyer to understand what needs attention and what does not, without needing to phone us for a translation.
Direct access, always
You and your clients get a direct line to the surveyor who carried out the inspection. If questions come up during negotiations, the person who wrote the report is the person who answers the call.
Estate agent survey partnership FAQ
Can we recommend National Home Surveyors to our clients?
Absolutely, and we welcome it. Many estate agents across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Greater London and Oxfordshire already recommend us to their buyers and sellers. We treat every referral with the same care and professionalism we would give to a direct client, because we know your reputation is on the line too. We are happy to provide you with referral cards, digital assets or simple wording for your client communications to make the recommendation process easy.
Will you keep us updated on the survey progress?
Yes. With the client's permission, we are happy to keep you informed of key milestones: when the inspection is booked, when it has been completed and when the report has been delivered. This helps you manage your pipeline and gives you visibility of any potential delays before they become problems. We respect client confidentiality at all times and will never share the contents of a survey report without the client's explicit consent.
How quickly can you turn a survey around?
Our standard is 3 to 5 working days from booking to inspection and a further 3 to 5 working days from inspection to report delivery. In practice, this means most surveys are turned around within 6 to 10 working days from the initial enquiry. We can sometimes accommodate urgent requests depending on surveyor availability, so please do ask if you have a particularly time-sensitive transaction.
Do you offer any preferential rates for agent referrals?
We do not discount our survey fees because we believe every client deserves the same competitive, fixed price regardless of how they found us. However, we are always transparent about our pricing and there are no hidden extras or surprise charges. What we can offer is priority scheduling for agents who refer regularly, so your clients get booked in as quickly as possible.
What happens if the survey finds serious defects?
If the survey uncovers significant issues, we will discuss them directly with your client and help them understand the implications, the likely repair costs and the options available. The client can then make an informed decision about how to proceed. Having this conversation early and openly almost always leads to a better outcome than discovering problems at the last minute. We are always available to speak with you as well, with the client's consent, so you can help manage the negotiation.
Should I recommend a vendor survey to my sellers?
Vendor surveys are an increasingly popular option and we would certainly recommend them for many situations. By commissioning a survey before the property goes to market, your seller can identify and address issues proactively, price the property realistically and present buyers with a complete picture from day one. This reduces the risk of renegotiation or collapse later in the process and can actually speed up the overall transaction. It also signals to buyers that the seller is serious and transparent, which is a powerful marketing message.
