Why Join National Home Surveyors as a Self-Employed Surveyor

We are a growing independent surveying practice looking for self-employed RICS property surveyors and valuers to join our network. Work for yourself with the backing of an established brand that provides a steady pipeline of instructions across some of the most interesting and varied property markets in the United Kingdom.

Our self-employed surveyors inspect everything from Listed Cotswold stone cottages in Oxfordshire to Victorian conversions in central London, new build developments in Bedfordshire to period ironstone homes in Northamptonshire. You set your own schedule, choose the work that suits you, and keep the lion's share of every fee you earn — all with professional support when you need it.

We value independence, thoroughness and clear communication. We do not chase volume at the expense of quality and we give you the time to do the job properly. Every self-employed surveyor who works with us enjoys genuine autonomy while benefiting from a consistent workflow across their designated territory.

If you are an experienced RICS qualified property surveyor or valuer who takes pride in producing clear, thorough reports that clients can actually understand and act on — and you want the freedom of self-employment without the hassle of finding your own work — we want to hear from you.

What We Offer Self-Employed Surveyors

Steady Workflow

Consistent stream of instructions across home surveys, property valuations and specialist inspections. You focus on the work — we keep the pipeline full.

Local Territory

Work in a defined geographic territory close to home. No travelling across the country. Cover one or two neighbouring counties at most.

Quality Over Volume

You set your own pace. We never push volume targets. Take the time you need to do thorough inspections and write comprehensive reports.

Genuine Independence

You are self-employed and in control. We have no ties to estate agents, lenders or contractors. Your professional judgement is never compromised.

CPD Support

We support your ongoing professional development. Stay current with RICS standards, industry changes and best practice.

Direct Client Contact

You speak to your clients directly. No call centre filtering, no account managers in between. Build professional relationships that last.

Who We Are Looking For

The Ideal Self-Employed Surveyor

We are looking for self-employed surveyors who share our values and want the freedom to do great work on their own terms.

RICS Qualified

AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS qualified with proven experience in residential surveying and valuation. You take your professional standing seriously.

Self-Motivated

You thrive working independently and managing your own diary. You want the freedom of self-employment without the admin burden of finding work.

Experienced

At least 3 years of post qualification experience in residential property surveying, ideally in the Home Counties or London market.

Clear Communicator

You write reports that clients understand and can act on. Plain English matters as much as technical accuracy.

Locally Knowledgeable

You know the building stock, geology and market of your territory. You understand local defect patterns and construction traditions.

Client Focused

You enjoy speaking to clients directly and building relationships. You see the report as the start of a relationship, not the end of a transaction.
